Memory

I hear that kids this young don't have memories, but Nico seems to recall things, including experiences from last year (trip to the Houston zoo, for example, name of the camel (Goober) at the Johnson City Exotic Zoo, even the 'crying' Mama gorilla at the SD Zoo! Hmmmm..... all zoo memories! LOL). So, it was funny last night when she suddenly started talking to me about a clock cabinet at Tita's house that she'd seen last weekend.

To give you some background, there is a cabinet that looks like a grandfather clock case at the top of Tita and JeJe's stairs. There is no clock where the face might be, but there is a doll sitting in it. And you can see the doll's legs when you walk up the stairs. So, Nico spotted it immediately, asked what it was, and I took her to see it. I explained that I thought it was a clock case, but the clock's face was missing, so Tita must have put a doll there using it as a shelf. Her little brain processed that and she waited 'til yesterday to say:

Too funny!

That is AWESOME. And I love that she remembers the crying gorilla from the SD zoo (and that many of her memories are zoo/animal-related - lol).
