Time Out, Turkey!

Below, see my attempt to utilize a 'teachable moment' gone horribly wrong, due to my excessive laughter and taking pictures:

Nico: Turkey, time out! You need a time out!

Mama: Why does Turkey need a time out, Nico?

Nico: Turkey hit Baby.

Mama: Oh, wow. No hitting, Turkey! Hitting hurts.

Nico: That's NOT OKAY, Turkey! [Phrase used at school]

Mama: You're right, Nico. Hitting is not okay.

Nico: Look at my eyes, Turkey! [adapted from Mama's "Look me in the eyes, Nico."]

Mama: Is Turkey sorry, Nico? Should he give Baby a hug?
Nico: Come here, Turkey.

Nico, putting Turkey and Baby together on the couch: Sorry, Baby. You okay, Baby?

I'm not kidding. I laughed for a good hour over this exchange.

Oh, and, yes, that's a turkey hat, in case you were wondering. It's our beloved chicken hat's new sibling.

I'm glad you mentioned that this was a turkey hat, because the entire time I was thinking "That is the saddest stuffed turkey I've ever seen. She should take it easy on him."

But isn't it a great hat? I liked your idea of wearing chicken hats to Neal's party. I just couldn't find enough for cheap. ;-)

LOL, I love it! I recognize the "hitting hurts" phrase too... :) Iz totally puts her dolls/animals in timeout and says "That's unasseptable" to them...ugh, makes me realize I need to use better wording with her.
