Verbal Girl

Nico's always been verbal (see previous posts), but she is really saying a lot of words these days!

My friend Emily told me that if you make a list of words and try to write them all down, one day you realize there are too many to keep up with and suddenly your baby is talking. So true! So, here is a list of words that, as of today, Nico is saying, in the correct context. She will repeat a ton, as well. I hope to get some video of her soon!

G’Night (‘Nigh' or 'Nigh Nigh’)
Shoe (to which she will point to her shoe)
Ssh! (usually to Bailey)
Bailey
Trash
Thank you ('Tane-too')
Up
Santa
(this one is hard to understand, but it's followed by. . .)
Ho-ho-ho ("eh,eh,eh")
Baa (for sheep)
Hat
Button
Spider
("pi-duh")
Outside ("ah-shah")
Flower ("wa-wer")
Dirty
Morning ("Mo-neen")
Woof-woof
Quack quack
Ooo-ooo, aah-aah (monkey sound)
Duck and Duckie

Hot (usually followed by blowing to cool it off)
Meow
Eyes
(as she points to her head/ears - LOL!)
Mama (she just recently started using this in context!)
Dada
Grandma (this is new-- sounds like Mama, but is definitely different!)
Ball ("ba")
Banana ("nana")
More ("mo")
Milk ("mil")
No
Uh-oh
Hi
Bye

She also uses sign language, mostly for "more", "all done", "please", "help" and "milk." She also does an elephant trumpeting and sort of uses her arm as the trunk (this is from sign language for elephant, but she has her own take on most of her signs!).

That's our verbal girl!

That's a great idea to make a list! I only kinda did that with Iz and I'm totally neglecting writing anything down for Ethan. :)

So exciting that Nico has so many new words--they really do have a language explosion, don't they? I am dying to meet her!!!
